This camp is made for kids who are ready for real adventure. Children aged 8 to 10 learn hands-on bushcraft skills, take their first steps on the rock and explore the mountains around Saas-Fee with a small group of friends and camp leaders who look after them at all times.

The perfect Summer Camp!

Saas-Fee is the ideal base for an adventure camp. This car-free village in the heart of the Alps gives kids a taste of freedom they rarely get at home, with forests, rivers and crags all within walking distance of the camp.

At 8 to 10, children are ready to do things for real: light a fire with a ferro rod, tie the knots that hold a rope, read a simple map. Our camp leaders turn every skill into a game, so the group learns without noticing and comes home proud of what they can do.

With small groups we can adapt to each child. We build confidence step by step, mixing bushcraft, sports and creative sessions, and always fostering teamwork and camaraderie.

What are the activities
for kids aged 8 to 10?

Adventure Seekers get a full week of hands-on outdoor skills. Campers learn fire craft and fire safety, build survival shelters from natural materials, practise knots and try their first climbing routes with our certified instructors. Nature hikes, scavenger hunts and orienteering games take them out into the forest and up the valley every day.

We also run workshops on local wildlife and the mountain environment, arts and crafts inspired by what they find outside, and a wide choice of sports: soccer, mini golf, yoga, rock climbing, rollerblading and much more. Every activity runs in English, so children pick up the language naturally while having fun.

Are the camps for kids
available regardless of level?

Our adventure camps for kids aged 8 to 10 welcome all fitness levels and interests. No previous outdoor or climbing experience is needed: our instructors build every skill up from the basics, and every child finds their place in the group.

Parents can rest assured knowing that safety is our top priority. Our staff members are trained in first aid, we use age-appropriate equipment for every activity and we keep a low camper-to-leader ratio so each child gets personal attention.

She spent the morning with an incredible instructor who took the group into the woods to learn about tying knots & how to erect a tent. My daughter enjoyed this experience very much & both she & I were disappointed she couldn't attend any further days. Each day is a different, well curated experience all based in and around the local nature. I also saw a friend who's daughter joined the group for older children & she also had a positive experience. The instructors were helpful & attentive when I had queries & when I provided details of my daughters allergies. I felt very comfortable & confident leaving her with them (she is 5 year's old) Lastly, my daughter met a girl within her group with whom she made an instant connection so that was an added bonus for us! FAQ about summer camps in Saas-Fee

During summer, Saas-Fee experiences pleasant, sunny weather with daytime temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). Mornings and evenings can be cooler, so bring layers. Expect occasional rain showers, so pack waterproof clothing as well, but generally this part of the Alps has a rather sunny microclimate and so great, reliable conditions for these camps.

The educational element of the camp focuses on discovery and adventure, blending the excitement of learning new sports and a mix of other activities, such as outdoor mountain survival skills, as well as the benefit of hands-on interactive English language learning. While English enhancement is part of the experience, our primary focus is on overall learning and personal growth. Ideal for both English speakers and learners a-like, these camps are the perfect setting for kids to explore, learn, and grow in an engaging and dynamic environment, and make new friends and unforgettable memories in the outdoors.

For summer camps in Saas-Fee, pack layered clothing, a waterproof jacket, comfortable pants/joggers and shorts, sports trainers and hiking boots, swimwear and essential accessories like a hat and cap, sunglasses and sunscreen (with strong SPF protection). A rucksack/backpack is strongly recommended as well.

We are pleased to provide daily drop-in rates that cater to individuals of all age groups. For our younger participants, we have structured our schedule so that they can only attend in the mornings. This arrangement ensures that each age group receives the attention and care they need while allowing for a smooth experience throughout the day.

The official camp language is English, ensuring easy and relaxed communication among campers. However, our camp leaders are multilingual, which allows them to assist and support campers who may be more comfortable in their native language including French, Spanish and German, enhancing the overall camp experience.

The general timetable consists of full days of activities. Breakfast will be from 08.00 onwards each day and activities will begin at 09.30 and finish at 18.00. And then we will have fun evening games/activities after dinner from 19.30 – 20.30. (N.B. No camp on Saturday afternoons, evenings and through until Sunday at 16.00). Campers will be engaged in various indoor and outdoor activities, fun interactive language lessons, and group events throughout the day, ensuring a fun, enriching, and memorable experience.

The camp is designed for children aged 5-15, but we can make exceptions on a case-by-case basis if necessary. We strive to accommodate each child’s needs and ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants..

Yes, rest assured that the children are well taken care of throughout the day, from morning until night. Our dedicated staff ensures that the kids are entertained, engaged in activities, and supervised at all times to provide a safe and enjoyable experience.

Most kids attending the camps come from diverse international backgrounds. This mix of cultures and languages creates a unique environment for learning, encouraging cultural exchange, and making lifelong friendships with campers from around the world.

The accommodation provided is in a 3-star hotel, with shared rooms arranged by age and sex. This ensures a comfortable and safe environment for campers while promoting camaraderie and fostering connections among children of similar age groups.
